Anaut, a Tokyo-based medical-device startup founded in 2020 by surgeon-CEO Nao Kobayashi, has completed a Series B round to accelerate its overseas push, BRIDGE reported on May 15, 2026. The company develops EUREKA, an AI device that analyzes endoscopic and robotic-surgery video in real time to help surgeons identify critical structures such as nerves and connective tissue.
EUREKA α received Japanese manufacturing and marketing approval in April 2024. According to BRIDGE, the new capital will fund regulatory pursuit of US FDA clearance and European CE marking, with a European subsidiary planned for summer 2026.
Investors named in the round include Japan Growth Capital Investment, Japan Bank for International Cooperation, Vision Incubate, Beyond Next Ventures and ANRI. The amount was not disclosed.
For overseas investors, Anaut illustrates Japan’s emerging surgical-AI niche tied to its strong endoscopy and robotic-surgery installed base, with a clear regulated-market expansion path.
